Golf Resorts and Clubs in Sofia

St. Sofia Golf Club & Spa

St. Sofia Golf Club & Spa course is the first certified 18 holes golf course in Bulgaria, Built in 2004. It is located only 30 minutes from the center of the capital city Sofia. The Clubhouse is built in colonial style, it reveals a magnificent view over the golf course and Vitosha Mountain. It offers a restaurant with international or traditional Bulgarian cuisine, as well as a lobby bar.The course was designed by the 2014 Europe Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley and now it offers a par 71 layout with plenty of risk-reward holes.

Pirin Golf & Country Club

The Pirin Golf & Country Club is all year round international resort operational since 2009. The Complex is the largest of its kind in South-West Bulgaria and is quickly becoming the second focal tourist point in the region, so far known predominantly for its premier ski resort – Bansko. It is located 2 hours drive from Sofia.
Pirin Golf & Country Club features two golf courses .The pride of the club is the outstanding 18-hole, Par 72 championship course designed by the winning 2006 Ryder Cup Captain, Ian Woosnam. The second course is the Pirin Pine Course – an exhilarating challenge for golfers, named after the surrounding area, featuring 5 fully constructed holes, designed by a young German company.

Pravets Golf Club

Pravets Golf Club was officially opened in May 2011. Designed by Peter Harradine the course is a challenging parkland style layout framed by the Pravets Lake and complemented by the 4 star Riu Hotel and Spa Resort. The Hotel has a capacity of 252 rooms and can host conferences for up to 500 delegates. It also boasts a 3000 sq. meter Spa area and a fitness centre with an Olympic size indoor/outdoor swimming pool.
For the past five years the golf course has played host to the UniCredit PGAs of Europe Championship and has also hosted a number of high profile tournaments including the EGA Mid Amateur Championship, the EGA Team Shield and the EGA Men’s Senior Team Championships. The Bulgarian Golf Association has held their flagship event, the BGA Amateur Open Championships several times at Pravets Golf Club.
Situated only 50 minutes from Sofia, Pravets Golf Course is easily accessible from Sofia airport. The area is well-known for its sporting and cultural heritage, with five football pitches located nearby the golf course, cycling tracks, basketball courts, a hunting lodge and numerous hiking trails.
