Borovets is the biggest ski resort in Bulgaria, with up to 58 kilometres of slopes. It is located only 1.5 hour drive from Sofia Airport, on the northern slopes of the Rila mountain range, nestled in a pine forest 1,390m (4,560ft) above sea level.
Borovets ski resort is nearby numerous landmarks and attractions, such as Rila Monastery *UNESCO, the 7 Rila laks, considered as one of the most remarkable natural phenomena in the region, and many small churches and archeological complexes.
Borovets has 9 slopes for beginners, 9 for intermediate runs and 4 for ski experts.
